Welcome to Mercer County's Fallen Heroes website, where we'll keep the residents of our fine county reminded of the sacrifice that our fallen heroes gave in defense of our country.

On a long cold winter night in January 2006 at a POW/MIA vigil in Mercer Pa, this organization and Memorial Run was founded. It's grass roots movement had an uphill fight ever since it's birth. But with determination it was not going to fail. Thus on June 7th 2008 the 1st Memorial Run was held and many attended, and everyone had a great day and ride supporting this worthy cause of getting a Memorial built at county seat. The 2nd annual Memorial Run was a sight to see, so many good hearts showed up just to pay respect to the families and honor our fallen heroes.

The Memorial was dedicated on November 7th 2009 and it is a very special tribute and honor for all who were involved to see this memorial standing in honor of our fallen heroes who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for freedom.

Without their sacrifices and that of their families we would be constantly made aware of just how awful the effects of September 11, 2001 had on America. While most America rest comfortably in their beds and enjoy freedom here at home, many of our young men and women are putting their lives on the line for each of us. While a few give and pay the ultimate sacrifice for the price of our freedom.

June 5th 2010 Memorial Run was a great success and now we are planning for 2011 memorial Run. The date for next years run will be June 4th 2011.

And for that we should and must never forget.
